    Switch to production, enable logging and reporting, and monitor latency and outcome rates against scheme limits.

Don't leave the responding side until last

Many teams focus on outbound checks and forget that answering inbound requests is equally mandatory. Plan both from the start to avoid a compliance gap.

Euro-area PSPs had to offer Verification of Payee from 9 October 2025. PSPs in non-euro EU member states must comply by 9 July 2027.

Building a scheme-compliant requester and responder with reachability and tolerant matching is significant. Most PSPs reach the deadline faster and more safely with a specialised provider.

With a provider, integration is typically a few days; the overall timeline depends on your testing, risk and release processes. Start early enough to test both sides.
